Eero Saarinen’s design career was both wildly iconic yet sadly short-lived. His work in furniture design and architecture was centuries ahead of its time and quite possibly only achievable by Saarinen himself. His furniture work aided his design process for architecture and vice a versa, he understood the human form and how people interact with design in the world. These iconic Saarinen Executive Chairs remain one of his most notable designs, instantly recognizable and widely used to this day.

The Saarinen Executive Armless Chair is perhaps the most versatile dining chair known from the Mid-Century Modern era of design. Saarinen’s mastery of swooping curves welcome users to sit and be embraced by a level of comfort only he could achieve. The iconic opening of the chair’s back allows for a slight “give” as one settles in. This chair is in every way a Saarinen sculpture; beautiful at every angle.

For years we have been restoring authentic Knoll Saarinen Executive Chairs for discerning clients who wish to include them in their modern-day homes by offering a range of contemporary fabrics, respectfully modernizing the beloved design. The Object Refinery team has decided to take Eero Saarinen’s Executive Chair one step further. We felt the final step for welcoming Saarinen’s design into the 21st Century was to update the chair’s hardware with a contemporary plated finish, truly complementing a design which has transcended generations. Our “renewed” Eero Saarinen Executive Chairs are now completely customizable with a range of fine fabrics (shown in Performance Bouclé in the color Snow) from our curated collection as well as these new exclusive finishes which include Brushed Brass (shown) and Bronze.
