Description This Finn Juhl model 133 or "Spade" lounge chair is not only beautiful and comfortable, but historically important.
Designed in 1953, it was the first industrially produced chair made of teak, a wood Juhl liked for it's rich, warm color and ease of finishing.
A new kind of saw blade had to be developed since ordinary blades would dull quickly due to the natural oils in the wood.
It was Juhl's use of teak that popularized the wood among Scandinavian designers and forever linked it to Danish modern.
The ends of the armrests are a homage to spade handles. This lounger is not only a true sculpture but also extremely comfortable!
This early example is stamped (see photo) has a been reupholstered in salt `n pepper Hallingdal by Kvadrat.
