Modern day obsession with Mid-Century design wouldn't exist if not for the momentous efforts of Florence Knoll. The most significant chapter in Knoll’s life was spent devoted to her namesake company. Her work at Knoll in cultivating the world’s talent in the fields of design & architecture resulted in one of the most timeless collections of furniture design still revered today. Florence Knoll was also one of the first designers of commercial space, her “Planning Unit” team took on projects for clients such as IBM, Connecticut General Life, CBS, and Look Magazine.

It was during these years in interior design when Knoll required furniture which in some cases simply did not exist, her response to such problem was simple: design it. With that, she created what may be one of the most iconic furniture collections of our time. Her Sofas, Tables, and Lounge Chairs such as these, are beloved symbols of Mid-Century design still used in homes & offices alike.

The Object Refinery team has thoughtfully restored these chairs leaving not one inch untouched. With this pair, we’ve decided to honor Knoll’s design with an exclusive brushed brass finish on their frames, onto which, completely restored seats are mounted. We chose a supple Velvet in Navy which wonderfully accents the Brushed Brass finish, a combination we regard as timeless. Every solid stock leg is equipped with solid steel levelers, also brushed brass plated to perfection. One leg on each chair is incised with KnollStudio accompanied by Florence Knoll’s signature.
