French 19th Century Louis XVI-Style Painted Canapé

Description
This lovely Louis XVI-style carved and painted canapé, c.1880’s, is from France and is painted a soft dove-grey. The “ribbon-and-rosette” carved frame is accented on the arms with carved acanthus leaves. The upholstery may be more recent as it is in very good condition and features shades of rose, gold, and green on an ecru ground. This piece is perfect for a sitting room.
