The great George Nelson left us with a massive portfolio of forward thinking design which Herman Miller has largely kept alive to this day. Nelson’s studio “George Nelson & Associates” produced countless designs that were ahead of their time, including the Nelson Modular Seating System from which we have this “Model 0693” Sofa. The system was gorgeous line of products that Herman Miller has since discontinued.

The wide array of Nelson’s Modular System can be found in all shapes and sizes to this day. Sofas, loveseats, chairs, armless seating, end tables and more; it was meant to fulfill the needs of any space large or small. Rarely seen is this “Model 0693” sofa which is the largest of the entire suite. At an impressive 8’ long, this Nelson design is the ultimate Mid-Century statement. Our team chose a stunning cotton velvet in the color Dove Gray, the perfect hue to settle into any environment, spectacularly complementing the architecturally inspired brushed steel base.

Object Refinery has completely restored this “Model 0693” Sofa ground-up. New upholstery has been executed completely in-line with original design specifications. We’ve installed generous webbing, additional structural supports, and firm seat foam for optimal comfort; far more premium than even its original construction. The result is a George Nelson icon that has been fully restored, refined, and ready to live on for many more lifetimes.
