Important and very fine George IV carved rosewood armchair, probably by Gillows of Lancaster and London, of great scale and profusely carved in the Grecian style with boldly scrolled and acanthus leaf carved ears flanking a squared paterae, with scrolled arms and back and standing on richly carved front legs with acanthus leaf details, ribbed collar and ribbed ball feet, the shafts with linen fold panels, the rear backswept legs also with foliate carving, the whole possessing grand scale and rich patina.
