Rare Set of 12 Dining Chairs Model 110 by Gio Ponti for Cassina
-
Description
Gio Ponti for Cassina rare matched set of 12 dining chairs model 110 with oak frames, upholstered seat and back in ivory bouclé, and ending in brass sabots, Italy, 1950s. These Ponti classic architectural armchairs have sculptural curved armrests, slightly curved backs and cushioned seats. Fully restored and newly upholstered in a luxurious Holland & Sherry Brunswick Snow or ivory bouclé.
These Ponti model 110 armchairs are very rare to find in such a large matched set of 12 and are also sold separately as a set of 4 armchairs or a set of 8 armchairs. The set of 8 armchairs is slightly different from the set of 4 armchairs as they came from 2 different estates. Since these armchairs are all handmade, the difference is very slight between the set of 8 and set of 4, but can be seen in the subtle details of the frame and open grain of the oak. Even side by side they are not so noticeable. -
