Rare Grosfeld House "Glassics" Lucite and Patent Leatherette Chair

Sold Sold
  • Description
Lorin Jackson, design director of Grosfeld house from the mid-1930s,introduced the Glassics collection in 1939, to celebrate the miraculous new material, lucite. Jackson brought a fresh perspective to interior design through this daring juxtaposition of modern materials with traditional forms. Pieces from the Glassic collection are extremely rare, and this example is even more so, due to the preservation of the original patent leatherette upholstery.
