Description Ico Parisi slipper chair. Metal base with beige fabric. Beautiful design with sculptural form super lightweight, France, circa 1950 Very good vintage condition Ico Parisi was born in Palermo in 1916. He graduated in construction and held an apprenticeship at the studio of Giuseppe Terragni. In 1937 he made, for the magazine Quadrante, a photographic studio of the Casa del Fascio which marks the entire research that Parisi leads in “meditating the legacies and contradictions of the enormous baggage of ideas and forms constituted by the experience of the masters”. His activity, marked by continuous experimentation, is an incessant research in the field of architecture, art and design. Between 1948 and 1950 he devoted himself to the study of furnishing elements. In the field of design, the crucial meetings with Munari and Fontana (1951) and Melotti deeply mark the experience. In 1948 he founded, with his wife Luisa Aiani, the study La ruota which will cease its activity in 1995.
