1950s Ilmari Tapiovaara 'Domus' Armchairs. Executed in solid birch frame with laminated back and seat and brass metal hardware. Originally designed for the Domus Academica student housing complex in Helsinki, Tapiovaara's iconic chair has subsequently achieved worldwide renown, winning on the American Good Design Award as well as the Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale in 1951.
