Description A beautiful pair of restored sculptural form Italian lounge chairs dating from the early 1950's with handcrafted wood frames. The curvaceous shape of the chair is complemented by the slope in the mid-section of the backrest. The tapered and angled brass legs are stamped 'MOD BREV' an Italian patent mark and are the same form legs that are found on several models of lounge chairs that were fabricated by the Italian company I.S.A., Bergamo in 1950 including several models by Gio Ponti. These classic and exquisite armchairs have been fully restored and newly reupholstered in a luxurious cotton Versailles apricot colored velvet by Kravet. The chairs with their matching stools are a rare and unique set.

I.S.A. Industria Salotti e Arredfamenti, also known as ISA, ISA Bergamo and ISA was an Italian furniture manufacturer, founded in the late 1940s in Ponte San Pietro, a small village outside of Bergamo, Italy. The company produced the furniture by the famous architect and designer Giovanni "Gio" Ponti.
