Description Born in the late 19th century - designer Kaare Klint helped found the Furniture School at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1923 and was a leading educator to many of the early Scandinavian Modernist students including Poul Kjærholm and Børge Mogensen. With early examples in the late 1920s - Klint designed the classic safari chair we are offering in 1933. Stitched dark brown canvas seat and seat back over doweled ashwood flexible frame is accented with a loose leather cushion and leather-strap arms that wrap around the front leg. Produced by one of Denmark's oldest cabinetmaker's Rud. Rasmussens and still in production today. Great vintage condition.
