Six Kurt Østervig Dinner Chairs in Dark Wood and Leather, Denmark 1960s

$ 5,605
  • Description
    Six Kurt Østervig Dinner Chairs in Dark Wood and Leather, Denmark 1960s
    These 6 Kurt Østervig Dinner Chairs, that have been manufactured by Sibast in a dark wood in the 1960s, are finished with a black leather seat and backrest. Designed with an angular shape and clean lines, the chairs sit on cylindrical legs. The freestanding leather seat floats from the side panels to create a sturdy but comfortable sit. Combined with the high leather backrest it allows for a supported yet minimalistic dinner chair. All 6 chairs are in a great vintage condition with the black leather growing more and more interesting over the years.

    About the Designer:
    Kurt Østervig worked for manufacturer E. Knudsen, before deciding to open his own studio. Known for his naturalistic detailed drawings, Østervig, however, continued to also do freelance work and decided to mostly work in oak, teak, and rosewood. Over the years Østervig builds quite a varied oeuvre and even today works by him are still being produced by five manufacturers.
