Mid-Century Modern Costela Lounge Chair Carlo Hauner Martin Eisler ‘Set of 2’

Sold Sold
  • Description
Set of two Mid-Century Modern Costela lounge chairs by the Brazilian Designer Duo Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler, 1950s

The Costela chair, an icon of midcentury Brazilian design, was created by the celebrated designer duo Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler circa 1950s. Consisting of solid ebonized Freijó wood slats, which are arranged rhythmically throughout a painted tubular iron frame, this chair bears resemblance to a wooden rib cage. The fabric cushions are attached to the backrest and seat by tied strings, gently embraced by the curve on the wood slats' edge.

The chairs may be sold separately.
