Description A spectacular pair of French garden chairs made in the 1950s - possibly by the famed Hungarian designer Mathieu Matégot who started in France in 1931 making sets for the Folies Bergère. He was a pioneer in the use of steel tube with wicker and perforated metal. Renowned Rene Malaval and Jean Royere also made very interesting pieces in this style during the post war period. This pair is exceptional with layers of blue/green/red paint that show thru with vintage perfection. Unusual headrest that is a curled continuation of the single perforated chair sheet.
Styles / Movements Bauhaus, Modern
