Description These elegant bentwood Classic Thonet 209 round chairs are a masterpiece of construction. The projecting frames that form both the backrests and armrests are bent into their form from a single piece of solid beech wood. Each chair consists of only six parts. The aesthetic reduction of the design in combination with the organic form give them an amazing sculptural quality.

Le Corbusier was fascinated with them and used these chairs in many of his buildings, for example the Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart in 1927. According to him "this chair has nobility."

These examples were crafted in the 1970s and are in excellent condition.
