French Art Deco Black Lacquer & Walnut Occasional Chair, Manner of Ruhlmann
-
Description
This elegant Art Deco occasional chair was realized in France circa 1930, in the manner of the legendary Emile Jacques Ruhlmann. It features channeled tulip front legs and subtly arched volumetric rectangular hind legs- all in lustrous black lacquer. The streamlined backslat offers bowed sides and is composed of beautiful bookmatched walnut. The top of the back offers channeled embellishments at the crown and skyscraper style detailing at its shoulders. The chair has been newly reupholstered in a luxurious silver Art Deco inspired fabric with concentric streamlined demilune forms expressed throughout. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful attention to detail, this chair would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Art Deco to contemporary. It has been newly restored to mint condition.
