Midcentury Burled Rosewood & Graphite Mohair by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin
-
Description
This elegant and understated sofa was designed by Milo Baughman and realized by Thayer Coggin in the United States, circa 1970. It features an austere rectilinear form with two rectangular arms that provide ample space to support a drink glass (functioning also as side tables) and an apron of roughly the same proportions undergirding the seats- all in a book matched and burled rosewood. The cushions have been newly reupholstered in a stunning graphite mohair that offers a rich contrast to the visual complexity of the woodgrain. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful quality of construction, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered and restored to mint condition.
American, circa 1970
