Pair of Armchairs in Longhair Sheepskin, Europe First half of the 20th Century

$ 13,300
  • Description
    The classic mid-century furniture design principles are all present in this armchair model, as it is functional, well-crafted, and free of unnecessary ornamentation. Mid-century modern remains one of the most appreciated interior styles, and the furniture pieces from this period are some of the most iconic in the world - uncluttered, uncomplicated and as functional and comfortable as they are timeless.

    This pair of armchairs revolves around the use of high-quality materials, comfort and the mastery of the era’s European cabinetmakers. The design is focused on the aesthetics of modernism, whilst employing the precise technique and material familiarity of the highly-skilled craftsmen. These chairs in many ways transcend the word ‘modern’ thanks to their unique look. Their flamboyant appearance is the result of the brilliant pairing of materials; the solid wood structures’ smooth lines stand out against the textural, organic sheepskin while also accentuating the individuality of the upholstery. The soft fibres of the feathery sheepskin drape beautifully over these chairs, while the warm brown colour adds depth. The desire to keep functionality and comfort at the core of the design is visible, especially in the gently tilted back and the short, tapered legs. The armrests have an ergonomic shape, with perfectly sculpted curves to accommodate the sitter. Furthermore, the elongated seats are perfect for lounging and counterbalance the short legs.

    This pair of chairs preserve the value and beauty of master craftsmanship and exquisite materials, providing great visual interest and featuring as a beautiful accent element in any space.
