This elegant pair of finely carved Louis XV?style crème peinte fauteuils with gold-gilt accents is from France, c.1860’s. Each having a floral?carved crest rail, padded back, arms, and seat with a serpentine apron, raised on floral-carved cabriole legs and delicate scrolled toes. The arms in particular are beautifully patinated where the paint has been worn and the wood grain is visible. These armchairs are newly upholstered in tan velvet, by Baker Fabric.
