Three-Seat "Model 1307" Sofa in Mohair by Paul McCobb for Directional
-
Description
If there was a singular piece that was the epitome of the great Paul McCobb's design language, it very well might be his "Model 1307" sofa designed for Directional. Our Workroom team was quite taken with the nuanced presence of this piece, which was restored right down to its frame. The piece's length, subtle curves & extreme angles, and its petite wood frame & legs making it sit effortlessly, give this piece a sense of uniqueness which is rare in today's world of furniture and design.
The upholstery started right down to the frame making sure that every inch of the sofa's structure was sound for long lasting integrity. We chose a rich Mohair in Clay for this restoration, a handsome color which lends itself to the simplicity of McCobb's design and complements its wood frame spectacularly. Three new back cushions were constructed for this piece, in keeping with the original design, which can be removed for a cleaner look. Should you need a swatch of the Velvet used on this pair, or have any questions at all, feel free to contact us. -
