This beautiful pair of MP-01 armchairs, made of iron covered with Brazilian hardwood, designed and produced in 1961 by the master Percival Lafer, was the first piece created by the designer. It has a striking and comfortable design. The structure built through simple lines carries special details such as elegant legs and wood arms. Definitely a unique design.
The chairs were restored by one of our best craftsmen in São Paulo and reupholstered in a stunning emerald green velvet. The combination of the rich color with the solid Brazilian hardwood creates a luxurious and sophisticated look, making this pair of armchairs a statement piece in any interior.
Architect and designer Percival Lafer believed that a piece of furniture could only be considered really relevant if it pleased the public, not just the creator. He is recognized not only for his originality and innovation but also as one of the pioneers of the industrialization of Brazilian design processes. Lafer's pieces have excellent design quality and are made using the best materials and techniques available in traditional furniture making. For him, "each project should reflect the state of the art applied to new ideas." Ahead of his time, he was a pioneer in the search for new technical resources and in the use and combination of materials with originality and boldness. His creations conquered the world and helped give new meaning to the idea of Brazilian furniture.
This restored pair of MP-01 armchairs is a testament to the beauty and quality of Brazilian design and a must-have for any collector or design enthusiast.
