Sergio Mazza Toga chair Artemide, Italy 1968

Price Upon Request
  • Description
The Toga Chair was a product of the 1960s’ nonconformity and a space-age optimism in technological innovation. It was produced in 1968 by Sergio Mazza (1931-present) as a complete piece of moulded fibreglass. The Toga Chair exemplifies the architect-trained designer’s fascination with hi-tech processes and pioneering aesthetics, much of which was inspired by the fast-changing cultural scene he lived through. A model of the Toga Chair is enshrined in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

Restored condition, surface newly refinished by a plastics conservator.
