Set of Two Rationalist, Italian Wooden Benches - 20th Century
-
Description
International Style Italian wooden bench was created in the mid 20th century. This rationalist bench offers to seat two people and a shelve that can be used to display books or other curiosities. Ideal in a waiting area or a living room.
Twentieth-century Rationalism derived less from a special, unified theoretical work than from a common belief that the most varied problems posed by the real world could be resolved by reason. In that respect, it represented a reaction to Historicism and a contrast to Art Nouveau and Expressionism. -
