The mid-20th century saw brilliant European designers working to create furniture of the highest quality that explored truly modern shapes and innovative techniques. Designers experimented with new materials and construction methods but, crucially, they prioritised elegance. This sculptural wingback armchair is a prime example of European designers' emphasis on form’s marriage to function.

Cabinetmaker armchairs may seem similar at first sight - however, each model’s individuality becomes evident upon closer inspection. In this chair’s case, its sheer volume and welcoming shape stand out immediately. With a clear preoccupation with geometry, this chair’s outstanding architectural frame speaks of the mastery of the designer and of the producer. This curved armchair’s comfort is equaled by its stylishness and elegance. The chair is covered in a beautiful, soft longhair that highlights its unique silhouette. A conspicuous feature of this model is the design of the back and the armrests. The back has an enveloping shape that hugs the sitter; additionally, the armrests have a low and slightly outward curving shape that opens up the design, which creates an interesting look.
