Description Viennese Art Nouveau at its best. At the end of the 19th century, designer Hans Vollmer studied under Josef Hoffmann at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna. Vollmer's work is highly collected and brings together organic materials into a highly structured form. This set of four armchairs are made from solid elmwood with seat and seat-back tightly covered in woven cane in very good condition. Identified as Model 1/567 in a catalog by cabinetmaker Prag-Rudniker Korbwaren-Fabrication in Vienna, Austria. Set of four. Caning in good condition with minor breaks at seat front. One chair back is lighter due to sun exposure.
Styles / Movements Art Nouveau, Modern, Secession
