Warren McArthur 4 Early Folding Chairs California 1932/33
-
Description
A Warren McArthur set of 4 early folding chairs. These chairs predate the self standing folding chairs that he produced tens of thousands of over a thirty year period.
The flattened end caps are characteristic of McArthur's Californian designs which leads me to think that these chairs were made in Los Angeles in the early 1930s.
The folding mechanisms are in very good working condition, two of chairs have had welded repairs. The frames show minor wear consistent with gentle use. Lubrication is a very important consideration in the care of the chairs probably WD-40 once a year.
A relatively rare group. -
