A 19th century English seaman's chest featuring wonderful original faded grey-blue paint and possessing traditional canted shape for stability at sea. Also featuring long hand-forged iron hinges, heavy carved blocks with rope handles and original brass lockplate. A wonderfully preserved connection with our seafaring ancestors and a useful storage piece at the foot of a bed.
