19th Century French Painted Monastery Trestle Table
-
Description
A very rare trestle table with two drawers that came from a monastery in Lons le Saunier, a small village near Lyon in southeastern France. This unique table served many purposes. It resided in a special room where it was used to receive visitors and also as a table and desk. The patina is a beautiful mix of gray, blue-gray, taupe, and white with some areas where natural wood is peeking through. The apron height is 24.13 inches. This table would make a charming dining table, kitchen island, console, or desk.
