Description
A Biedermeier mother of pearl and silver inlaid rosewood work table. German, Berlin, ca 1840. With distinctive lyraform escutcheon on octagonal baluster and conforming plinth raised on scrolled volute feet. Inlaid monogram "MLH."

Origin: Germany Period: 19th Century Materials: Rosewood veneers; mother of pearl and silver string inlays. Interior fittings with rosewood, leather and velvet detailing; ivory pulls; metal mounted crystal. Condition: Good. Minor veneer and inlaid blemishes. Slight top warp (age appropriate); lock missing; two ivory pulls missing (two replaced); flasks original. Creation Date: Circa 1840.
