American Queen Anne Style Tiger Maple Lowboy Chest of Drawers

$ 1,950
  • Description
    An incredibly striking lowboy from the last quarter of the 19th century, it is carefully benchmade and closely inspired by the original forms of Connecticut. The case is crafted of solid tiger maple, the vibrant rays fully on display in the cut of the grain of the two plank top. This projects generously over the edges of the case, the frontmost corners being inset and the outer edges thumb molded of the solid. A single long drawer is positioned over three smaller drawers, each hand dovetailed with tight precision and retaining original hardware. The center drawer is fan-carved and the knotched apron is embellished with a pair of hanging acorn finials, the entire case resting over fully developed cabriole legs terminating in gorgeous padded feet. The case has a fine mellowed patina throughout in the shellac finish. It is an inordinately fine Centennial reproduction and remains in exquisite condition.

    Measurements: 30 1/2” W X 20 1/4” D X 29” H

    Condition Report:
    Some staining and discoloration to the top, light seam between the two board top. Crack to left side of case. Minor dings and abrasions as expected, overall outstanding condition.
