Pink Marble console by Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper Eros, circa 1971.

The console table is produced by Skipper and is in very good vintage condition.

Designed by Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper from the 'Eros' series, pink marble console with top fitted on two conical bases, Italy, 1971. Given Mangiarotti's research on furniture without joints, this console table was an example of the result of a gravity interlocking design in which the console top because of its weight stably fits into the truncated conical legs. The word 'Eros' refers to the male-female coupling of this interlocking solution.

Angelo Mangiarotti (1921-2012) was an Italian architect and Industrial designer with a reputation to mainly focus on the needs of the users of furniture. His designs are solid and strong and he always used materials that will stand the test of time. Mangiarotti was very precise in using the right material and the right sizing for his designs.
