A CLASSICAL CARVED MAHOGANY CARD TABLE Attributed to Anthony Quervelle (1789-1856), Philadelphia, 1820-1830 The hinged rectangular top with rounded corners swivelling and opening above a conforming frame with pulvinated frieze flanked by floral-carved corners over a baluster and ring-turned pedestal with pendant waterleaf carved embellishment above a quadripartite base, on leaf-carved legs with animal-paw-carved feet fitted with castors.
Wear consistent with age and use. Retains original finish and patina to base, central support and apron. Top section refinished about 100 years ago. Small fleck of veneer missing on left side of base section. Two age splits to front apron. All original working parts and construction. No repairs!! -
