This beautiful Art Deco Machine Age cubist folding coffee table was realized in the United States circa 1935. Its graphic silhouette offers a streamlined volumetric rectilinear base in bookmatched walnut with black lacquer edges. When closed, the piece retains the form of a slender volumetric rectangle. Two bookmatched walnut panels (with black lacquer detailing) that extend at a perpendicular angle to the body of the piece open to support the two demilune sides of the table that are also wrapped in black lacquer. Offering a range of presentation options, this piece is both incredibly versatile both aesthetically and functionally. Its clean modernist lines and quintessential Machine Age sensibility (and materials) are sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate Art Deco objects, as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. It has been newly restored to mint condition.
