Art Deco Machine Age Streamlined Lacquer, Walnut & Vitrolite Cocktail Table
-
Description
This stunning Art Deco Machine Age cocktail table was realized in the United States circa 1935. It features a stylized bullet form top with a rectangular vitrolite center and demilune streamlined ends in a beautiful bookmatched burled walnut- showcasing the exquisite natural figuration of the wood. The top is supported by two streamlined forms in black lacquer that connect to a skyscraper style base in the same material. The cross slat connecting the streamlined supports is composed of bookmatched walnut offering a beautiful striated grain. Additionally, the apron of the piece offers rectangular cut outs, testifying to the fact that no detail was overlooked in its construction. With its clean modernist lines and refined color palate, this table would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Art Deco to contemporary. It has been newly restored to mint condition.
