Description A Swedish Pine Lovö dining table designed by Axel Einar Hjorth for Nordiska Kompaniet in the 1930s. Hjorth was major contributor to the burgeoning Swedish design culture that was recognized internationally in the 1920s. He effectively introduced Swedish decorative arts and architecture to the United States. And his minimal unique style heralded the Swedish modern movement. The table has central stretcher joining two trestle ends with mortice and tenon joints. Fantastic original condition with minor surface scratches and marks.
