Description Charleston Chippendale Mahogany Tea Table circa 1765

Rare small scale tea table, approximately 26" diameter, attributed to Henry Burnett. The best carved base.

Note: cleats were trimmed back with shrinkage to the top; they extended over the plane of the top.

Top is approximately 25" one way and 26" against the grain of the single board pie crust top. It stands 28" tall.

In the opinion of our cabinetmakers, the top and base are original to one another. However, contrary opinion exists. We would have not bought the table without reassurance that the top and bottom are matching.

This table invites serious inquiries.
