Condition Good. Some scratches in the wood and crazing to the paint. Overall in good condition. Additional measurements: two 10.5 inch drop leaves on either side. There are three small old repairs to the top.

Description Pembroke table with label from the firm Edwards and Roberts, 1850s.London. We think by the construction it could be made earlier, but sold by this firm. Mahogany with inlay, featuring decorative painting throughout attributed to the style of Angelica Kauffman with cherubs and flowers. Original brass pulls. Squared tapered legs ending in original castors. One working drawer, one faux drawer at either end.

Edwards & Roberts, Wardour Street, London was founded in 1845. The firm was synonymous with very high quality furniture and they also imported antique furniture. As with this piece, they were also known for adapting and restoring fine quality pieces worthy of their stamp.The firm's own cabinet makers produced contemporary items as well as reproductions of prior English and French pieces.
