Condition Good. Refinished. Repaired. Replacements made: Inlay plates have been added. This is standard practice as they originally mostly have been in softwood and only used for extension and covered with a sheet.

Description Elegant, round, expandable / expanding neoclassical Biedermeier dining room table in cherry solid wood and veneer, from Southwest Germany about 1820.

Exquisite cherry solid wood on the plate and legs as well as book-matched cherry veneer on the apron. Ebonized edge trim.
Six conical square-tapered legs made of solid cherry tree mit ebonized ring. Four inlay plates / leaves a ca 54.5 cm added, veneered with beautiful old cherrywood and walnut counter-veneered on the backside.

Greatly restored condition with lovely high-gloss surface, hand polished with shellac (french polish). Smooth old expanding mechanism in Oak. Very stable due to the six legs, too.

Smallest length is 130 cm. Expandable up to 350 cm (space for circa 14 - 16 people) in 4 steps. Five different lengths are possible.
