Description
North Shore, probably Salem, MA, ca. 1800.
Mahogany, figured mahogany veneer, white pine secondary wood.
Over-all in excellent condition, silk bag restored, minor imperfections.
Provenance: Silo’s Auction, “The Israel Sack Collection of Antique American Furniture”, New York, 1931; Sotheby’s 1975, NY Dr. Thomas and Alice Kugelman, Bloomfield, CT.
This exceptional quality work table has a turreted top above two drawers and a sewing bag, flanked by carved reeded tapered legs ending on casters. -
