Condition Excellent. Gilding mostly washed/scraped away down to original gesso surface.

Description Very fine pair of English 19th century marble top console tables, the shaped tops with inset painted borders with honeysuckle and husk design, the centre with panels with classical figures, over carved aprons with urns, bell flowers and trailing vines over turned and carved legs with longleaf capitals, turned collars, the fluted legs with carved collars and standing on ribbed ball feet, retaining traces of gilding and mostly original gesso.
These tables possess features often associated with Robert Adam, although some elements can also be attributed to his rival James "Athenian" Stuart.
