French 19th Century Marble & Walnut Bakery Table
-
Description
Dimensions: 29 ⅛” H x 49 ½” W x 21 ¼” D
A fantastic former work table, made of walnut and St. Anne marble dating to late 19th century France, that would have been used in a bakery or butcher shop for preparation and display. The stone slab is of ideal scale to appreciate the figurative pattern of veining that ranges from light gray to black, with rounded front corners and flat back corners to stand flush with a wall. Within the apron is a shallow drawer for tools or kitchen utensils, opening by a turned wood knob. Four carved & turned walnut legs feature an interesting bobbin silhouette that is proportional to the overall scale; this sturdy table can be used as an unexpected console practically anywhere around the home. Cleaned and tightened, polished with a French paste wax–ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition. -
