French 19th Century Restauration Console

This gorgeous walnut console was made in France, c. 1860. The solid wood top has rounded front corners and is original to the console. Below the top, a hidden drawer is housed in the table’s shaped apron. The drawer front and front of the base have been finished with stunning bookmatched walnut veneer. Large, scrolled supports brace the top and serve as the table’s front legs while the back is supported with two simple legs meant to sit flat against a wall. The console’s plinth-style base is also veneer and is wonderfully patinated and raised slightly by square, flat feet.
