French 20th Century Oak Art Deco Parson Desk

Art Deco style was at its peak towards the beginning of the 20th Century in the 1920s and 1930s. It was at this time that this wonderful Deco style oak Parson desk was made. The desk features a geometric, angular form consisting of a large, open kneehole and a lockable cabinet. The cabinet door has a working lock that can be used to secure its contents. Store files, documents, office supplies, Scotch and other sundries safely inside the cabinet using both the drawer and fixed shelf found inside. The door is trimmed with ribbed details and has an inset central panel that sports linear carvings. Below the cabinet you will find additional carved Deco details. The desk was made using quarter sawn oak, known for its striated pattern. This “Tiger Oak” as it is called, finishes the desk wonderfully, with its tight grain and beautiful striations.
