French Early 20th Century Extending Mahogany Dining Table
-
Description
Whether you are entertaining a few or entertaining many, this extendable antique French mahogany dining table will be able to accommodate. When closed, the table is actually deeper than it is wide. It has the ability to extend to up to 16’ in width, with a possible 144” of leaves between the ends. Presently, the table is without leaves, however matching leaves could be fabricated after purchase. Finished leaves – styled to match the table – would enable you to use the table at the length of your choosing without a cloth. Traditionally, Europeans will use less finished leaves (in some cases loose boards) and cover them with a tablecloth in order to extend tables that lack their original leaves. The table has a unique style, with an intricately carved pedestal base that gathers neatly when the table is closed.
