Description
French tilt-top 'table de vendange,' or wine-tasting table circa 1840-1889. Large round walnut top raised upon an oak trestle base with simple V-shape harp mechanism. All hand-carved. Naturally semi-bleached mid-brown finish. Remnants of ebonized black painted finish on base. Tilt-top fully functional and can be stored tilted upright for storage (measures 47.25 inches high x 39.75 inches wide x 16 inches deep when stored upright). Serves as a large side or end table, or as a dining table for breakfast or intimate dinners, both indoors and al fresco.

Origin: France Period: 19th Century Materials: Hand-carved walnut and oak Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Semi-bleached mid-brown color walnut and oak. Dark brown or black ebony paint remnants on base. Some wood separation. Stable, sturdy. No wobble. Joints tightened. Some minor losses (see image of top).
