Description
Very fine George II mahogany console table having a single plank top with molded edge over unusually carved blind fretwork apron and standing on boldly carved legs with rocaille carved knees and returns, beaded carved profile and well defined and sinewy ankles and claw and ball feet, the whole possessing good rich color and patination.
Stamped on top of apron (underneath top) "Lambert * York"
Possibly George Lambert of York and Doncaster (active 1739-58) -
