Description Although dubbed a ‘brutalist’ designer and artist, Jean-Jacques Arguerolles (1954-present) was often decorative in his work. He was inspired by African art and the work of twentieth-century modernist painters Picasso, Miró and Tàpies. And while he tended not to conceal the character of his materials, embellishment was never ignored completely. Rawness is a cardinal statement in this imposing forged and wrought iron table. The surface is rough and uncompromising. But it is complimented with primordial inscriptions and decorative motifs like the triangles and circles at the base.

The piece is heavy. It has minor wear to surface with faint scratches all over.
