Description Forward Trend Brutalist Mid Century Modern Walnut Bar Cart designed by Bert England for Johnson Furniture circa 1960. This is a well known and admired mid century modern brutalist bar cart represented in several early 1960s Architectural Digest Issues, even making an appearance at the famed Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. As with any Mid Century Modern piece, it's all about the design. Functional and sexy. This Mid Century bar cart goes from bar cart to party in two flips. The width increases from 42" closed to 60" open. A butterfly effect. The bar cart's front and back are both finished. One can stand behind it with all storage open while guests observe a beautiful walnut back with geometric detail complimentary of the carts' front door pattern. Hire a bartender to work this bar cart and have a cocktail party. No need for coasters. The bar has a white laminate top so spill away. Clean up is easy. Nice size bar drawer for barware storage. Lower cabinet for spirits. Casters mean roll it where you need it. Brass ring pulls and wheel casters show patina. We appreciate polishing decisions should be left to the buyer. In that spirit, professional polishing is available. Please advise our shop of your preference.
