Description Two incredible Parsons Style Side Tables manufactured by Lane Furniture during the mid 1970s. As is typical of a Lane Furniture creation, these tables are elegantly and robustly crafted of fine walnut and feature a beautiful and subtle checkerboard pattern. The mitered legs, in true Parsons Style, are meticulously constructed to be of equivalent thickness to the table surface, which stylishly confers both resilience and a timeless look that will be at home in just about any interior design scheme.

Founded over a century ago, Lane Furniture began as a small time cedar chest manufacturer named Standard Red Cedar Chest Company operating out of a small Virginia town named Altavista. It was here that John Lane and his son Ed transformed an abandoned box factory into a thriving wood crafting and furniture business, utilizing the preexisting framework of the abandoned factory to create and maintain a crafting assembly line. The creation of this assembly line allowed for an assurance of quality and consistency in every piece created at Lane Furniture factory. It was this quality and consistency that would see Lane Furniture be contracted by the United States government to produce war materials and ammunition crates for both the First and Second World Wars. Following the end of the Second World War, Lane Furniture expanded its line of quality wooden goods to cases, accent pieces, and tables, carrying on a tradition of building consistently well-crafted, well-designed, and well-received furnishings that carries on to this day.
